3 Phase Motor Controller Using LVRX-4 (E3R-R04FP-4)

Application

Extend the capability of a control station by adding a additional control locations.

Scenario

A 3-phase motor needed to be started and stopped from multiple locations within a plant. The control system needed to interface with the existing magnetic starter, commonly found on such motors. Running wires to the additional control locations would have been expensive and time-consuming.

Solution

Plant engineers selected ILLUMRA wireless controls to add additional control locations to the existing motor and its magnetic starter. Installing the ILLUMRA system was completed in less than 1 hour, saving weeks of time and eliminating the need to use costly construction materials. ILLUMRA self-powered controls are ideal for applications like this, because they don’t require ongoing maintenance and can be installed virtually anywhere.

ILLUMRA’s Controls Honored in New York City’s Green Technology Initiative

ILLUMRA, a leader in lighting control and energy management systems, announced selection by New York City’s Municipal Entrepreneurial Testing System (METS). The pilot program includes two of ILLUMRA’s products, the self-powered wireless occupancy sensor, and the M3 wireless steam valve control. The wireless products save energy, time and money and are designed to install in as little as 20 minutes with minimal disruption to building operations. The systems will be installed in various city buildings, where cost savings will be monitored and evaluated for wider deployment within the city.

CMR“We’re excited to be chosen by the METS program and look forward to the opportunity to show how our wireless control products can save New York City both time and money,” said Jan Finlinson, ILLUMRA CEO. “Our unique green technology can be retrofitted economically and easily in any government or commercial building.”

METS is a NY city partnership of Speaker Christine C. Quinn, Council Member Michael Nelson, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) and the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), to promote green technologies in city buildings. In addition to the METS initiative, ILLUMRA will be highlighting its latest lighting control products at the LIGHTFAIR International tradeshow and conference in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 9-11 (EnOcean Alliance Booth # 612).

Wireless Window/Door sensor receives top honors

ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls of Lindon, UT has been honored with a recognition by Building Operating Management in its selection of “2012 Top Products Award Winners.”

Lindon, UT November 1, 2012– Announcing a special recognition appearing in the January, 2012 issue of Building Operating Management. The Self-powered Wireless Window/Door sensor from ILLUMRA  was selected for the following honor:

“2012 Top Products Award Winners”

The Wireless Window/Door sensor is used to reduce energy consumption and equipment wear and tear in hotel rooms, condominiums, schools, and etc. by shutting off air conditioning equipment when Windows or Doors are open. The wireless sensor transmits radio frequencies to eliminate the time and cost of installing wires to the sensor. Additionally, the wireless door sensor reduces maintenance cost because it does not require batteries; instead it uses energy collected from ambient indoor light using small solar cell stores enough energy to operate for several days in complete darkness.

Jan Finlinson, Director from ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls commented on the recognition: “The fact that Building Operating Management included ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls in its selection of “2012 Top Products Award Winners,” signals that our constant efforts towards business excellence are paying off. We are proud to be included in this recognition.”
