Acceptance of Orders/Terms

All ILLUMRA brand products (produced by Ad Hoc Electronics, LLC or “SUPPLIER”) are subject to acceptance by SUPPLIER. SUPPLIER reserves the right to reject any order. Possession of a price list does not constitute an offer to sell. Orders shall be initiated by Buyer issuing a Purchase Order or otherwise placing an order by electronic means acceptable to SUPPLIER. Orders shall identify the Products, unit quantities, part numbers, descriptions, applicable prices and requested delivery dates. Acceptance of any order by SUPPLIER is expressly conditioned on Customers’s assent to the terms and conditions set forth herein (“Terms”) and the waiver by Customer of any terms and conditions contained in any order form, confirmation, or any other communication of Customer, whether previously or hereafter delivered to SUPPLIER, which either add to, differ from, modify, conflict with, or are otherwise inconsistent with any term or condition herein. SUPPLIER hereby gives notice of its objection to any additional or different terms or conditions in any such order form, confirmation, or communication. Customer’s failure to object in writing to these terms prior to the earlier of Customer’s acceptance of the products ordered or fifteen (15) days after delivery thereof to Customer will constitute agreement by Customer to these Terms. SUPPLIER hereby gives notice of its objection to any additional or different terms or conditions in any such order form, confirmation or communication.

Hold for Release Orders

An order may be placed on a hold-for-release status. Prices are firm for 3 months from date of order acceptance. The price of all hold-for-release orders not released by Customer for immediate shipment within 3 months from the date of order acceptance will be increased up to 10% over initial order price to cover increased cost of labor and material. All hold-forrelease orders not released for immediate shipment within 6 months from the date of order acceptance may be cancelled by SUPPLIER and subject to a 25% cancellation charge based on the price of the order.

Product Changes

SUPPLIER reserves the right to discontinue the manufacture or sale of any product (“Supplier Product”) at any time or to alter, modify, or redesign the Supplier Products.

Prices

Prices are subject to change without notice. All prices are in U.S. Dollars. International payment terms are cash in advance or irrevocable, confirmed letter of credit, due at site. In the event of a price increase, all accepted orders on hand will be filled at lower prices provided such orders are released for shipping prior to the effective date of the price increase. If the orders are not released for shipment prior to the price increase, the orders will be billed at prices in effect at the time of shipment. (Special quoted orders that cannot be released for shipping prior to the price increase may be subject to an increase in price.) In the event any governmental action or request should prevent SUPPLIER from implementing any price or continuing any price already in effect, SUPPLIER may at its option cancel Customer’s order or any part thereof.

Taxes/Duties

All prices are exclusive of federal, state, or local sales, use or other taxes, as well as all duties, import fees or other assessments all of which are the responsibility of Customer.

Payment Terms/Credit Approval

Payment terms are Payment in Advance unless alternative payment terms have been arranged. If Customer is requesting terms, credit approval is required prior to any shipment. To qualify, buyer must complete application and be approved by SUPPLIER’S finance department. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing. All invoices, whether partial or in full, shall be due and payable in full by Customer pursuant to the terms set forth thereon. Invoices not timely paid are subject to a late payment charge of 1.5% per month – 18% per year, or the maximum rate allowed by law, which interest charges shall accrue beginning on the invoice due date. If Customer becomes insolvent, files or has filed against it a petition in bankruptcy, makes any assignment for the benefit of creditors, or has a receiver or trustee appointed for it or its property; or takes action to liquidate or otherwise cease doing business as a going concern; or undergoes a change in ownership; or fails to provide adequate assurance or security for credit extended; or takes any other action that SUPPLIER determines in its sole discretion adversely impacts the conditions under which credit was extended, then all amounts outstanding from Customer hereunder shall at SUPPLIER’s option become immediately due and payable. ALL PAYMENTS, WHETHER UNDER THE STANDARD PAYMENT TERMS OR OTHERWISE, SHALL BE CONSIDERED RECEIVED BY SUPPLIER AS FOLLOWS: (1) FOR PAYMENTS BY CHECK, WHEN THE CHECK IS RECEIVED AT SUPPLIER’S DESIGNATED PAYMENT LOCATION, AND (2) FOR PAYMENTS BY ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER, THE BUSINESS DAY ON WHICH THE FUNDS ARE IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE TO SUPPLIER. Customer shall pay all undisputed invoices regardless of any dispute that may exist as to other delivered or undelivered goods. With respect to any disputed invoice, Customer shall pay all amounts not in dispute. Customer expressly waives the right to assert any offset or counterclaim with respect to amounts due under any invoice issued by SUPPLIER hereunder.

Cancellation/Change Orders

Orders may only be revised or cancelled by Customer prior to the date of shipment and only with SUPPLIER’s prior consent. All cancelled orders shall be subject to a cancellation charge of 25% of the order price. If not cancelled as provided herein, Customer shall be liable for the full order price. If any amount due SUPPLIER is collected by, or attempted to be collected by, a third party collection agent, SUPPLIER shall be entitled to recover all collection expenses, including attorney’s fees.

Packaging/Shipping/Risk of Loss

Unless otherwise agreed by SUPPLIER in writing SUPPLIER shall select the method of shipment and carrier, and costs for shipping shall be billed to Customer in accordance with the carrier’s then current price list. Costs for special packaging and/or handling requested by Customer shall be the responsibility of Customer. The risk of loss, damage or shortage of SUPPLIER products shall pass to Customer upon delivery to the carrier regardless of notice to Customer. SUPPLIER assumes no responsibility for insuring shipment unless specifically agreed to in writing by SUPPLIER, in which case the cost of insurance shall be added to Customer’s account.

All Shipments

All items shipped are invoiced, including items shipped as part of warranty exchange. Exchanged items will have a credit memo issued, to be applied to the invoiced replacement parts, upon receipt of the defective items. Unless otherwise agreed, all shipments are F.O.B. SUPPLIER located in Orem, Utah. Title and “Risk of Loss” passes to purchaser upon delivery by SUPPLIER to the carrier. Purchaser has legal responsibility to file transportation claims for damage/shortage with the carrier. See TRANSPORTATION CLAIMS below. Customers ordering ILLUMRA products with a combined distributor price of $1,500 or more for one consignee and one release qualify for ground freight allowance. All ILLUMRA orders having a distributor price lower than these levels will be assessed freight and handling charges. A $10 adder will be applied on all drop shipment orders.

Freight Allowance

For orders that qualify for freight allowance, SUPPLIER reserves the right to select the carrier and to route shipments at its discretion. SUPPLIER will ship in the manner selected by the customer provided the customer assumes any additional transportation costs. For shipments outside the contiguous United States, consult SUPPLIER for applicable terms & conditions.

Transportation Claims

Any claims for damage, loss, or shortage should be filed by Customer with the respective transportation carrier in writing immediately upon receipt of the Supplier Products. In no event shall SUPPLIER be liable for damage or loss to a shipment caused by a carrier. If shortage exists with respect to any shipment and it is not concealed, Customer shall secure a notation of such shortage from the carrier on the freight bill or delivery receipt. If shortage is concealed, Customer must notify the carrier and SUPPLIER within 15 days. No claims for damage, loss, or shortage will be allowed unless they are accompanied by an inspection report or signed delivery receipt noting such damage, loss, or shortage signed by a representative of the carrier and forwarded to SUPPLIER within 30 days of the invoice date.

Return of Supplier Product

Customer may return new and unopened Supplier Product only with prior authorization by Supplier on a Returned Merchandise Authorization, with the exception of special order or custom products which are not returnable. Non-stocking customer will be charged a minimum restocking charge of 25% of the cost of the returned goods and shall be responsible for freight and duties to return the Supplier Product. Restocking charge may be waived for stocking customer assuming product is returned within 30 days from date of purchase.

Force Majeure

SUPPLIER shall not be liable for failure to fulfill its obligations herein or for delays in delivery due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of God, natural disasters, acts or omissions of other parties, acts or omissions of civil or military authority, Government priorities, changes in the law, material shortages, fire, strikes, floods, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, riots, war, acts of terrorism, delays in transportation or inability to obtain labor or materials through its regular sources. SUPPLIER’s time for performance of any such obligation shall be extended for the time period of such delay or SUPPLIER may, at its option, cancel any order or remaining part thereof without liability by giving notice of such cancellation to Buyer.

Limited Warranty

Products manufactured by the SUPPLIER are warranted against defects in materials and manufacturing under normal use in accordance with instructions and specifications published by the SUPPLIER, for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase from the End User. In the event of a product failure due to materials or workmanship, SUPPLIER will repair or replace the defective product. For warranty service, return the defective product to SUPPLIER, shipping prepaid, for prompt repair or replacement. Products not manufactured by SUPPLIER are subject to the terms and conditions of the manufacturer’s warranty. The foregoing sets forth the full extent of SUPPLIER’s warranties regarding the Products. Repair or replacement at SUPPLIER’s option is the exclusive remedy. THIS WARRANTY IS GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND SELLER SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL SELLER, ITS SUPPLIERS OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT, FOR ANY LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF TIME, INCONVENIENCE, COMMERCIAL LOSS, LOST PROFITS OR SAVINGS, OR OTHER INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE ANY PRODUCT, TO THE FULL EXTENT SUCH MAY BE DISCLAIMED BY LAW. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. THEREFORE, THE FOREGOING EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY IN ALL CASES. This warranty provides specific legal rights. Other rights, which vary from state to state, may also apply.

Limitation of Liabilities

The foregoing limited warranty provides the purchaser’s sole and exclusive remedy relating to ILLUMRA products. IN NO EVENT SHALL SUPPLIER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES WHETHER AS THE RESULT OF BREACH OF CONTRACT, WARRANTY, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY).

Energy Code Compliance

ILLUMRA products facilitate compliance with California Title 24 and ASHRAE 90.1 Daylighting and motion sensors are designed to save energy by turning down lights automatically.

The Salt Lake City International Center office building implemented required motion sensors using ILLUMRA products.

Material Savings

ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls are environmentally friendly because they reduce the amount of materials used during electrical installations for renovations and new construction.

ILLUMRA reduces the need for the following materials:

  • copper wire
  • dry wall
  • switch boxes
  • conduit

The controls operate without batteries, thus saving the materials, energy, and waste from battery manufacturing and disposal. Material savings is an important part of completing a green electrical installation and self-powered wireless controls help to accomplish that goal.

A common electrical project where materials can be reduced is installing a new light switch in an existing home or building. In the past, a job like this required fishing wires through the wall, installing conduit, or tearing a hole into the wall and fixing the hole afterwards. All of these techniques require extra materials, special tools and time; all of this can be avoided through the use of self-powered wireless technology.

Energy Savings

Wireless controls can be placed virtually anywhere and control any device that is within range. This flexibility opens up the opportunity for energy savings that was not available in the past.

To accomplish energy savings in an existing home or building, a system of self-powered wireless controls can be installed to decrease the amount of energy used from lights, HVAC units, and devices that draw standby power.

Self-powered wireless motion sensors can be used to turn lights and other devices off when a room is unoccupied. Self-powered wireless temperature sensors can be used to set heating or air conditioning to an "economy" setting. A master switch can be used to stop current from entering devices that draw standby power and easily ensure lights, fans, and other devices are off when exiting.

Whatever the application, ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls make it easy to implement a cost-saving energy mangement system.

ILLUMRA– a New Line of Energy Saving Controls

Orem, UT, April 30, 2008 — ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls announced today a new line of self-powered wireless controls that reduce the amount of time and materials needed to install energy management systems in green buildings. Based on EnOcean technology, the new ILLUMRA™ product line will include wireless light switches, temperature sensors, occupancy sensors and light sensors that are powered using solar or mechanical energy sources. These battery-free transmitters communicate with room and building controllers to conserve energy through occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting and personal workspace control technologies.

Green buildings minimize energy waste by switching off lights and reducing air conditioning demands in unoccupied spaces; reducing artificial light levels when natural light is available; and allowing building occupants to customize lighting and temperature preferences at individual workspaces. Implementing these technologies enhances productivity and saves on long term costs but traditionally requires extra wiring and time for installation. ILLUMRA self-powered wireless controls provide solutions for energy efficient buildings while requiring substantially less time and materials to perform the installation. Because the EnOcean based transmitters do not use batteries, the system offers maintenance-free, long-term operation.

ILLUMRA products do not require wiring from the transmitter to the controlled device, allowing the switches and sensors to be installed anywhere. Wireless light switches and sensors mount directly to walls or other surfaces and can be relocated easily. The receiver modules plug into outlets or can be hard-wired to the devices they control.

The ILLUMRA wireless light switch uses a small micro-generator to convert each switch press into a small amount of electricity that powers a built-in transmitter. ILLUMRA sensors harvest energy through a small solar cell which collects energy from ambient light.

About ILLUMRA

ILLUMRA is the largest supplier in North America, of self-powered, battery-free, wireless lighting control and energy management systems, and a member of the EnOcean Alliance. All ILLUMRA products operate using the EnOcean protocol, the de facto standard for energy-harvesting wireless controls. EnOcean technology allows energy harvesting ILLUMRA transmitters to operate indefinitely without the use of batteries. The motion of a switch actuation, light on a solar cell, or temperature differentials in the environment provide power to ILLUMRA transmitters, providing zero-maintenance wireless devices. 12 Week Project Finished in 15 Days Using ILLUMRA

ILLUMRA products were used in an “unprecedented industry move” as part of a 10,000 sq. ft. office build-out in Boston, MA. The project was named “15 days”, because it was completed in that short amount of time. It was sponsored by Commodore Builders, Leggat McCall Properties, and Audrey O’Hagen Architects, who issued the following press release about the project.

View the 15 Days press release here.

ILLUMRA products were selected as the flexible lighting control system in the build-out blitz. During Day 12, the ILLUMRA wireless switching system was quickly and easily installed, saving money in both labor and materials. A short video clip can be viewed at the following link by clicking on “Daily Archives” then click on “Day 12”, where Karl Neubauer, Senior Project Manager for Leggat McCall Properties, explains the benefits of the ILLUMRA wireless switches.

ILLUMRA’s flexibility allows the office space to change without getting in the way. In fact, ILLUMRA systems can grow and change as needs in the space evolve. For example, the light switches can be moved to new locations in a matter of minutes. New switches can be added. Existing switches can be assigned to control different light fixtures. Temperature, motion, and light sensors can control the lights, shades and/or HVAC system. Because they never require batteries to operate, ILLUMRA switches are literally maintenance-free. “ILLUMRA wireless control products are changing the way architects, specifiers, interior designers, lighting designers, and builders approach projects. Workspace personalization and office reconfiguration become more practical and affordable, and last-minute changes to wall configurations are no longer a cause for project delays,” says Jan Finlinson, Vice President of ILLUMRA.

ILLUMRA products provide ongoing savings because they can intelligently save energy through the use of wireless sensors. ILLUMRA products are also compatible with a wide variety of commonly available wired sensors from almost any manufacturer.

ILLUMRA products also qualify buildings in which they are used for LEED credits. In 1998 the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System was developed. Green buildings are healthier, more environmentally responsible, more energy efficient, and more profitable to operate. ILLUMRA products helped the “15 day” project to achieve a GOLD rating in the LEED Green Building Rating System.

ILLUMRA SLT Wireless Sensor Extends Reach Of Control

ILLUMRA, the largest supplier in North America, of self-powered, battery-free, wireless lighting control and energy management systems, announced today the release of their SLT (Switch Leg Transmitter) wireless sensor. The SLT wireless sensor is used to extend the control of one branch circuit to other branch circuits without installing wires between them. The SLT wireless sensor connects to an existing switched load and transmits a control signal to an ILLUMRA wireless receiver, which in turn, switches a distant load. The distant load follows the existing load with both loads turning on and off simultaneously.

The SLT wireless sensor is compatible with existing ILLUMRA wireless receivers. As with all ILLUMRA wireless devices, the SLT wireless sensor is easy to install and easy to use. The new sensor reduces cost by eliminating expensive materials and eliminating tedious and time-consuming labor. The SLT wireless sensor can control an unlimited number of ILLUMRA wireless receivers as long as they are within 150 feet of the SLT wireless sensor. Each ILLUMRA wireless receiver can respond to as many as 30 different SLT wireless sensors. “The introduction of the SLT wireless sensor to the ILLUMRA line increases the flexibility of the entire line”, explained Jan Finlinson, Vice President at ILLUMRA. “Successful companies are always looking for ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and save energy, which is why ILLUMRA is gaining so much momentum in our industry. Our customers are finding more and more ways to apply ILLUMRA controls. With the SLT wireless sensor, the possibilities are vast, indeed”, said Finlinson.

As lighting circuits are added to a building, integration with existing control systems may be costly, complex, and/or impractical. With the SLT wireless sensor, the action of the existing lighting control can be duplicated on the new lighting circuit. For example, when task lights are added to work surfaces in an industrial manufacturing facility, the control circuits from the existing lighting systems are not available at floor level, but power is already wired to the bench-top. Installation of a SLT wireless sensor at an existing controlled load will transmit a signal to ILLUMRA wireless relay receivers installed at the bench-top, avoiding wasted energy due to task lights left on unnecessarily.

Buildings using the SLT wireless sensor and other ILLUMRA products: qualify for LEED credits, may qualify for Energy-Star ratings, require fewer materials and less labor during installation, and have the ability to use less energy. The SLT wireless sensor is manufactured to the latest quality standards in an ISO 9001:2000 facility, is RoHS compliant, is FCC and IC approved, has earned safety approval listing status according to applicable UL and CSA standards, and bears the ETL safety listing mark.

ILLUMRA Extends Range With EnOcean + ZigBee Hybrid System

ILLUMRA, the largest North American supplier of self-powered, battery-free, wireless lighting control systems, has announced its newest product innovation. The EnOcean + ZigBee long-range remote control system provides users with reliable light control at distances up to a mile away. The new long range hybrid system enables ILLUMRA self-powered wireless light controls to be used in a greater number of applications than was previously possible.

The ILLUMRA hybrid control system combines benefits of ZigBee 802.15.4 Industrial Wireless Relays (IWR) with the benefits of EnOcean compatible ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls. ILLUMRA wireless systems allow users to control electrical loads 150 feet away; the EnOcean + ZigBee hybrid system extends that range up to 1 mile. The system is made up of two component groups: first, an IWR pair designed to provide simple long-range remote control; and second, ILLUMRA battery-free wireless light switches and sensors, which are designed to provide easy-to-install light control and energy management systems. Together, these products make up the ILLUMRA hybrid system which provides simple, customizable, long range wireless light control, security control, pump station control, electronic sign control, traffic control, factory automation, and more. The hybrid system is especially effective for controlling loads across large open spaces where it would be preferable to not run wire. Examples of such applications include: barns, guest-houses, sports stadiums, tennis courts, boat-houses and garages.

The ILLUMRA hybrid system provides wireless remote control up to 1 mile away without the use of repeaters. The hybrid system uses ILLUMRA battery-free wireless light switches to produce a wireless signal. An ILLUMRA Low Voltage Relay Receiver that is connected to an Industrial Wireless Relay picks up the signal; the IWR then broadcasts the signal up to 1 mile away in all horizontal directions. A separate IWR connected to as many as four external relays, each sized for the load, receives the signal and controls attached electrical loads. The hybrid system may be used in 3-way switch applications by connecting ILLUMRA 5-wire Relay Receivers between the external relays and electrical loads.

ILLUMRA is excited about the opportunities the new hybrid system will open up to its customers. Contractors, specifiers, or other individuals can purchase components to create EnOcean + ZigBee long range remote control systems through ILLUMRA manufacturer’s sales representatives or from ILLUMRA distributors. First remove the hard-wired switch and install the ILLUMRA receiver in the hard-wired electrical switch box. An ILLUMRA wireless light switch can be installed over the switch box or a blank cover plate can be used to conceal the receiver. Other ILLUMRA wireless light switches can then be added in desired locations, creating single pole, 3-way, or 4-way light switches without running any new wires.
  • Q:How can I be sure the receiver is getting power?
  • A: In some cases, the receiver has a “Power” light which turns on only when the receiver is connected and powered. In other cases, you can test the receiver by pressing the LRN button. If the power to the electrical load the receiver is connected to toggles on and off, then the receiver is properly connected. You may also hear a faint clicking sound coming from the receiver during this test.
  • Q:Are ILLUMRA products easy to program?
  • A: Yes! Simply follow the installation guide shipped with the product. For most applications, programming is as simple as pressing a LEARN button on the receiver and then pressing a button on the desired light switch or other transmitter.
  • Q:Are all ILLUMRA receivers compatible with all ILLUMRA transmitters?
  • A: Yes. All ILLUMRA receivers can be taught to receive commands from any ILLUMRA transmitter. ILLUMRA accessories may be used in ILLUMRA control systems, but are not necessarily directly compatible with ILLUMRA transmitters or receivers. Some combinations of receivers and transmitters will not directly interact (for example, the Blind/Shade Controller receiver and the Occupancy Sensor).
  • Q:How many switches can a receiver respond to? How many receivers can a switch communicate with?
  • A: Most receivers can learn up to 30 switches. This means the receiver can memorize the unique ID of up to 30 switches and thus receive commands from them. A switch can send commands to an infinite number of receivers within range that have been programmed to respond to the switch (but never to a receiver that has not been programmed to respond to the switch).

  • Q:What kind of range do ILLUMRA products have?
  • A: ILLUMRA products typically achieve a range of about 50-150 feet. This distance can be extended an additional 50-150 feet by using a repeater, or up to 1 mile by using an ILLUMRA Industrial Wireless Relay.
  • Q:Can the wireless signals from ILLUMRA switches reach receivers through walls and other barriers?
  • A:Generally, receivers can sense signals through one or two walls, but range will be reduced by such obstacles. It is advisable to test the switch in a location before final installation.
  • Q:Can these devices be used around metal?
  • A:Yes. ILLUMRA wireless light switches and receivers can be used around metal; however, range may be significantly reduced. Metal tends to reflect and distort radio waves. To maximize range, use non-metallic cover plates and electrical boxes or mount outside metallic enclosures.
  • Q:Will interference activate my light? Will other switches accidentally activate my light?
  • A:No. Each ILLUMRA wireless light switch communicates by sending a unique RF packet to the receiver(s). Each packet contains coded information that is only related to that particular light switch. No two light switches will transmit the same packet. Receivers are programmed to respond to up to 30 specific switches of your choosing – and no others.
  • Q:Do ILLUMRA wireless products have a delay between when a switch is pressed and the light is turned ON/OFF?
  • A: There is no perceptible delay between the time a switch is pressed and the light turns ON/OFF.

  • Q:How does the affordability of ILLUMRA products compare to other options?
  • A:Because ILLUMRA products do not require copper wire, labor costs associated with running wire, labor costs involved in cutting and repairing wall, installing ILLUMRA products is often comparable in cost or even cheaper than installing a traditional wired system. ILLUMRA products especially excel in cutting the cost of systems which would have required a large fee for the labor involved in installation. By helping to reduce energy consumption, ILLUMRA products also help you to save money on utilities.
  • Q:Can I purchase ILLUMRA products locally?
  • A: Many electrical wholesale distributors in the USA carry ILLUMRA products. If the store carries Leviton products, they are eligible to carry ILLUMRA self-powered wireless controls. If there is not a distributor close enough to suit your needs, call (801)225-2226 to order.
  • Q:Can I become a distributor of ILLUMRA products?
  • A: Yes. Electrical Wholesale distributors in the USA should contact Leviton to inquire about distribution opportunities or to place orders. International and other distributors should complete the Distribution Inquiry Form online. Please see online instructions found.

  • Q:How well do ILLUMRA products blend with their surroundings once installed?
  • A:ILLUMRA receivers stow nicely in most junction boxes and are not visible at all after installation. ILLUMRA decorator switches are sleek, fashionable, and come in a variety of colors and styles (including one that looks just like a traditional decorator switch). With ILLUMRA, you get both form and function.
  • Q:Can I use ILLUMRA wireless light switches in a multi-gang configuration?
  • A:Yes. ILLUMRA decorator style switches can be used in a gang configuration with or without the included back plates. The following options are available:With a back plate - ILLUMRA wireless light switches can be surface mounted, requiring no switch box, in a gang configuration by using a back plate. In this method of installation, the light switches stand out about 3/8th of an inch (about 1cm) from the wall. Backplates are available in 1, 2, and 3 gang options; additionally dual rocker switches can be used in place of single rocker switches to provide a maximum number of switches in a minimum amount of space. For example, a 3-gang backplate could be fitted with 3 dual rocker switches to create 6 functional light switches.Without a back plate - ILLUMRA self-powered wireless light switches fit traditional switch boxes and can be installed in a gang configuration in existing switch locations. Another method of installing the light switches in a gang configuration without using a backplate involves using a mud ring. A hole will need to be cut in the wall where the mud ring will be mounted. Using ILLUMRA wireless light switches without a backplate matches the appearance, including depth, of a hard-wired decorator switch installation. ILLUMRA dual rocker switches may be used without a backplate in a multi-gang installation.
  • Q:Can I use a configuration greater than 3-gang?
  • A:Yes; however, backplates are not available in styles greater than 3-gang. Therefore a switch box or mud ring must be used to implement a multi-gang switch greater than 3-gang. As a cover plate, use a standard Decorator switch cover plate with the appropriate number of slots. Another method of installing multiple switches at one location is to use ILLUMRA dual rocker wireless light switches. ILLUMRA dual rocker light switches allow 2 light switches to exist in a 1-gang width. This allows a maximum number of switches to exist in a minimum amount of space. For example, a 3-gang backplate could be fitted with 3 dual rocker switches to create 6 functional wireless light switches.
  • Q:Are ILLUMRA switches available in a “toggle style” switch?
  • A:Not at this time.
  • Q:How large are ILLUMRA receivers?
  • A: Size varies from model to model, but all single-channel receivers are roughly 2.1” x 1.8” x 1.1”. Many multi-channel low voltage receivers measure roughly 2.9” x 1.3” x 0.7”.

New ILLUMRA LED Dimmers Provide Ultra Smooth Wireless Dimming

ILLUMRA Self-powered Wireless Controls introduced its new 65,000 dim step 24VDC wireless LED Dimmer along with its new wireless 0-10V Dimmer at Lightfair 2009 in New York. The new wireless devices provide ultra smooth LED dimming at all light levels. The wireless dimmers provide users the ability to adjust light levels to their preferences and allow the use of energy saving LED lights with the convenience of quality dimming control.

The ILLUMRA wireless 24VDC LED dimmer overcomes a major challenge faced by standard PWM LED dimmers; the device eliminates the issue of choppiness at low dim levels. Through the use of thousands of PWM dimming steps, the ILLUMRA LED Dimmer creates what is perceived by the natural eye as a single continuous dim — even at low light levels. The dimmer can easily drive 12V or 24V LED fixtures and loads requiring up to 5 amps of current. A unique feature of the dimmer is that it can be controlled from any switch wired to its local control input, in addition to ILLUMRA battery-free, wireless light switches.

The 0-10V Dimmer is used to control dimmable LED power supplies or dimmable fluorescent ballasts. In addition to its industry-standard 0-10V output, the dimmer conveniently provides a fully isolated switch output driver. The driver can be used to control an external relay, contactor or power-pack, completely disconnecting the load when it’s not in use, thereby achieving maximum energy savings.

The wireless capability of the new ILLUMRA dimmers allows users to control or dim lights using self-powered wireless light sensors, wireless occupancy sensors, wireless light switches, or other ILLUMRA wireless transmitters. This means the dimmers are able to be used in a variety of applications such as architectural dimming, daylighting, load shedding, manual ON / automatic OFF control, and more. The dimmers can dim lights in response to wireless light sensors indicating when natural light is available. They can also turn off or dim lights in vacant rooms or hallways by responding to signals from wireless motion sensors; additionally, the dimmers can be manually controlled with self-powered wireless switches. Each dimmer has an input for a wired 24v sensor, stores up to 30 wireless switches or sensors in its memory, and may function as a repeater for use in ILLUMRA wireless control networks. The ILLUMRA LED Dimmers are FCC/IC approved and RoHS compliant to minimize the environmental impact over the life cycle of the products.
